☁️ Get ready to add some "wow" to your walk in Central Park, because When Cloud Met A Cloud is about to make its debut. This isn’t your average statue—it’s a sleek, thought-provoking sculpture by Brooklyn artist Sujin Lim, inspired by the water history of the land itself. Think nature meets modern art, and all of it will be hanging out near the park’s stairs and walking trails. It's part of the upcoming River of Lights installation, and it’s bound to make your daily jog feel like a gallery tour. After jumping through all the bureaucratic hoops (engineering docs, safety checks, you name it), this beauty is ready to grace the park this spring. Get ready for some serious bragging rights when you snap a pic in front of it. (The Signal)

Entertainment

🍺 Grab your Guinness and get ready for some serious Irish charm with A Couple of Blaguards—the two-man show that’ll have you laughing and crying in equal measure. Based on Frank McCourt’s Angela’s Ashes, this revue takes you from the poverty-stricken streets of 1930s Limerick to post-war Brooklyn, following brothers Frank and Malachy through a rollercoaster of family drama, immigration struggles, and yes, plenty of Irish tunes. It kicks off St. Patrick’s Day weekend, folks, so why not kick off the celebration with a dose of humor and heart? At just 100 minutes, it’s the perfect length for a night out. Tickets? Just $22 for adults, $20 for students and seniors. Get ‘em before they’re gone—Blaguards doesn’t wait!

Sports

🏐 Valencia boys' volleyball kicked off their Foothill League title defense with a clean sweep over Hart on Tuesday, winning 25-19, 26-24, 25-7. Despite the straight-set scoreline, head coach Brendan Riley noted the match was closer than it appeared. With the team returning league MVP Nathan Willis and strong performances from juniors Dylan McFatridge (9 kills) and Gavan Miranda (9 kills), the Vikings (8-3, 1-0) seem to be in prime form. Hart, led by AJ Casillas’ 11 kills, showed improvement over last year, but the Vikings’ depth and execution proved too much. Valencia now heads to Saugus on Thursday while Hart will face Granada Hills. (The Signal)

Business

💼 Get ready, Santa Clarita – the 2025 Business Expo is back and bigger than ever! On Thursday, June 26, from 4-8 p.m., the Valencia Town Center is the place to be for businesses looking to strut their stuff. Whether you're a well-established empire or the scrappy startup down the block, this event is your chance to flaunt what you've got in front of potential customers and partners. With interactive exhibits, networking galore, and a ton of businesses showing off their latest and greatest, this is the event to be at if you want to make your mark in the SCV biz world. Pro tip: Spots are filling up fast, so if you want to show up and show off, register ASAP. It’s free for the public, but if you want a booth, you better hustle! (SCV News)

Education

➗ Here’s the deal, Santa Clarita – our local junior high Mathletes are crushing it! At the regional Mathcounts competition, the Rancho Pico Junior High team snagged third place, earning them a golden ticket to the state competition. Big shoutout to Nimrat Dhaliwal, Sai Tej Chikati, Christopher Lew, and Nathan Lee for their teamwork and problem-solving skills that got them there. And let’s not forget Ellie Che from Rio Norte Junior High – she’s heading to state with a stellar fourth-place finish. These kids are about to show the whole state what Santa Clarita's brains can do! Catch them in action on March 22 at California Baptist University in Riverside. (The Signal)

Our Staff’s Weekend Picks

Watch

“This starts off like your typical political thriller—a Secret Service agent digging into the murder of a former president in a quiet town. But then, BOOM, the first episode drops a twist so insane I had to pause and process. If you love a good ‘wait, WHAT just happened?’ moment, you’re gonna want to watch this.”

—EJ Gullett, Ad Partnerships Lead

Eat

“Spring is almost here, and I'm ALL about these Guava Cream Cheese Pastries! They're flaky, buttery, and filled with sweet guava and creamy cheese—a delightful treat that brings a taste of the tropics to your kitchen. Perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.”

—Anne Baker, Head of Content

Read

“If you're a Patagonia fan like me, Let My People Go Surfing is an excellent book written by the company’s founder and CEO, Yvon Chouinard. Chouinard describes himself as a ‘reluctant businessman’ and recounts his story from climbing bum to building one of the world’s largest outdoor clothing companies with strong ethics and a sense of adventure at its core. I also recommend the How I Built This podcast where Yvon Chouinard is interviewed, it’s a fantastic listen!“
