The 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament is happening on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM ā 3:00 PM at Lucky Luke Brewing in Santa Claritaāand it's all for a great cause!
Join in to support the Samuel Dixon Family Health Centerās Behavioral Health Department, which provides essential mental health services to local youth, adults, and families. Your participation helps fund counseling in schools, after-school programs, and more.
Grab a partner, pick a team name, and compete for the grand prize! Whether youāre a pro or new to cornhole, all skill levels are welcome.

š” Experience a summer night like no other at Central Park! Next week, on Wednesday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m., the City of Santa Clarita will unveil River of Lightsāa brand-new public art installation that blends storytelling, environmental awareness, and pure magic. Nearly 200 embedded lights trace the parkās walkways and staircase, mimicking the shimmer of flowing water and shifting with the colors of the sunset. At its center stands When Cloud Met a Cloud, a 14-foot steel-and-raindrop sculpture by artist Sujin Lim. Enjoy lawn games, a āPop-Up and Playā zone for kids, and a live concert by the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra as the lights turn on for the very first time. š§ Grocery workers vote to authorize strike action across SoCal! UFCW union members representing 45,000 grocery store employeesāincluding workers at Ralphs, Vons, and Pavilionsāhave overwhelmingly voted to authorize an unfair labor practice strike in response to what they say are union-busting tactics and stalled contract negotiations with Kroger and Albertsons. While a strike hasnāt been called yet, negotiations are scheduled to continue June 25ā27. If talks break down, this could become the largest grocery strike in recent historyājust in time for summer shopping season. (The Signal)

š§Ŗ CSUN professor awarded prestigious Fulbright for climate + biofuel research! Dr. Chhandak Basu, a cell and molecular biologist at Cal State Northridge, has been selected as a Distinguished Fulbright Scholarāa highly competitive honor awarded to top researchers worldwide. Basu will spend the next two summers at the University of SĆ£o Paulo in Brazil, studying how drought stress impacts the potential for biofuels made from plants like sugarcane and green foxtail. His work, funded by NASA and the USDA, could help shape the future of sustainable energy and global agriculture. (SCV News)
