IV Crisis at Henry Mayo 💉

If you thought getting an IV was a drag, try being the hospital without them. Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is currently navigating an IV fluid shortage thanks to Hurricane Helene’s not-so-gentle brush with a key supply plant. Due to the storm, Baxter International had to shutter its North Carolina facility—leading to a ripple effect impacting hospitals nationwide.

Patrick Moody, the hospital's marketing and PR lead, explained that Henry Mayo has taken careful measures to manage supplies, including putting some elective procedures on hold. Baxter, meanwhile, has promised to step up production at other locations, with CEO Joe Almeida stating, “We will spare no resource – human or financial – to restart operations.” Now we’re just hoping those other plants are up to the task. For now, the IV drip is a little more precious than usual—so elective procedures may just have to wait their turn.

Imagine your peaceful small town interrupted by a sinister carnival—run by a Mr. Dark with an even darker agenda. That’s what awaits audiences in this adapted Bradbury classic, complete with fog, strobe lights, and the occasional gunshot (on stage, relax).

Hart Union School District have outperformed both county and state averages once again. In English Language Arts, Math, and Science, scores stayed steady or improved—despite the curveballs thrown by post-pandemic education challenges.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Michael Vierra celebrated the district's “promising improvements,” highlighting exceptional staff and strategic plans as reasons behind student success. Bottom line: Hart students and staff are killing it academically—something to be proud of as they look towards the future.
