Step Back in Time at the Newest SCV Park 🏞️

Who says history is boring? Certainly not us, especially with Santa Clarita's 39th park officially under construction! This isn’t just any park—it’s the Pioneer Oil Refinery site, a relic from 1876 that’s been turned into a time machine. Well, sort of. Instead of hopping into DeLoreans, you can walk the paths of California’s oil history, right here in Newhall.

This refinery is the oldest of its kind in the world (yes, WORLD), and it's about to get a whole lot more accessible to you, the curious SCV resident. Picture this: scenic walking trails with stunning Newhall Pass views, learning about oil production, and getting a feel for the history that shaped not just SCV but the whole state. Plus, you'll be able to get some fresh air while appreciating the site’s transformation from industrial landmark to picturesque park.

Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House 🎃

Halloween with a purpose? Sign us up. Brittany Markham, an SCV local and superhero mom, has turned her garage into Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House to raise money for treatment for her son Damian, who suffers from the rare ASMD (aka Baby Alzheimer’s). The spooky (but not too spooky!) funhouse is open from October 24th through Halloween, offering a family-friendly, scare-free zone that’s perfect for little trick-or-treaters.

All proceeds go to the Wylder Nation Foundation, the only organization working tirelessly to fast-track a treatment that could save Damian’s life. So not only do you get a fun Halloween experience, but you're also helping fund critical research. Brittany’s dedication is inspiring, and we’re all rooting for Damian and this community effort.

Big news for Antelope Valley Medical Center! They’ve just opened a new Infusion Suite in partnership with CarepathRx, providing a much-needed service to the community. With six comfy chairs and a focus on convenience, this suite is a game-changer for patients needing specialized treatments like IV meds for conditions such as diabetes, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis.

It’s a huge step forward in patient care, making treatments more accessible and providing a more comfortable alternative to inpatient stays. Plus, who doesn’t love the idea of getting treatment while still feeling like they’re sticking to their regular routine?
