The Cube is about to become SoCal's answer to the North Pole (minus the questionable elf labor practices.)

The Cube’s 4th annual Disney’s Frozen Ice Holiday show kicks off on Friday, December 13 at 7 PM, with not one but TWO shows on Saturday, December 14 (12 PM and 5 PM). Picture this: over 100 local skaters dazzling you with frosty moves while you sip hot cocoa and try not to hum along too loudly.

Seats range from $20 (balcony) to $30 (on-ice bleachers, for those who like to live on the edge of the action). Pro tip: The rink stays at a brisk 54 degrees, so if anything this is finally a time to break out that "just in case" winter wardrobe you’ve been storing in the back of your closet!

NASA-Level Stargazing Right Here in SCV 🚀

COC’s 29th semi-annual Star Party was a reminder that space is still the coolest (literally and figuratively). Attendees gawked at student-built NASA projects, from a sun-tracking telescope to a capsule release system destined for an actual NASA rocket (talk about impressive). Penn State’s own Professor Jason Wright topped the night with a talk on searching for extraterrestrial life – and let’s just say, E.T. might not phone home, but waste heat monitoring? That’s the ticket.

Astronomy clubs showed up with their telescopes, and “Wow!” was the phrase of the night. Missed it? Don’t worry, they do this twice a year. Spring will be here before you know it!
