The Horror Sisters Are Back 💀
Madeleine and Violet McGraw are quickly becoming SCV’s own horror royalty. With Madeleine heading to Canada for “The Black Phone 2” and Violet fresh off her “M3GAN 2.0” shoot in New Zealand, these teenage scream queens are busy filling your nightmares. But they aren’t just acting—oh no, they’re producing too. Their recent project, “The Curse of the Necklace,” just hit theaters and is already giving people reasons to sleep with the lights on.
While these Blumhouse darlings are keeping plot details under lock and key (thanks, NDAs), the McGraw sisters promise big scares and even bigger surprises in their upcoming sequels.

West Ranch’s Wonder Teen 🤩
Meet Mahati Dharanipathi—West Ranch High School senior and the proud new owner of a Congressional Award Gold Certificate. What does that mean? It means she’s out here living her best life through volunteer service, personal growth, and physical fitness. Mahati racked up at least 90 hours of community service, 45 hours each of personal development and fitness, and even went on a mini-expedition to explore a new environment.
For Mahati, it wasn’t just about hitting the gym and lending a hand. She embodied the spirit of making the SCV community better—one volunteer hour at a time. With this award, she’s officially the kind of person who makes the rest of us wonder what we’re doing with our lives. Bravo, Mahati. You’re showing us all how it’s done.

Animating the Future 🎨
CalArts alumni are proving once again that animation isn’t just for kids. Nine CalArtians snagged spots on Cartoon Brew’s 2024 US Animation Power List, and a few even made it onto The Hollywood Reporter’s roundup of the 50 Most Powerful Players in Kids Entertainment. From Pixar legends like Pete Docter (the genius behind “Inside Out” and “Toy Story 5”) to new trailblazers like Carrie Hobson (making waves at Pixar), these creators are reshaping the future of animation.
Whether they’re creating heartwarming stories or taking risks with daring new art styles, these animation powerhouses are ensuring that the next generation of entertainment isn’t just watched—it’s felt. With projects like “Elio” and “The Proud Family” reboot taking center stage, there’s no question that the CalArtians are here to dominate.
