SENSES Block Party Turns 100 🎉 

The Big 100 SENSES Block Party is taking over Main Street in Old Town Newhall from 7-10 PM this Thursday, August 15.

And this isn’t your average Thursday night—this is the 100th SENSES Party, celebrating 13 years of epic fun. And what makes a great party, you ask?

The SCV Stairs Challenge is On! 🏃

The SCV Stairs Project is back with its August 100 Challenge, and it’s quickly becoming one of SCV’s most competitive (and fun) fitness feats!

The challenge? Complete 100 sets at the Central Park Stairs during the month of August.

And in case you’re wondering if it’s doable, shoutout to SCV local Carlos Soria, who finished all 100 sets in just one day—9 hours, to be exact! 💪 

If you’re looking for a challenge this month, this is it!

Mystery Writers Unite for Dinner 🔍

Ready for a night of mystery and mayhem? 🕵️‍♂️ Agatha’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party, brought to you by ME Main Productions, is anything but your typical dinner. Agatha, the famous mystery writer, is stuck on her latest book and has called in the ultimate dream team—Sir Conan Doyle, Houdini, Edgar Allan Poe, and Mary Shelley—to help crack the case. Expect plot twists, mind games, and a whole lot of fun as these legends try to solve the mystery.

Pro tip: Dinner isn’t on the menu, but you can kick things off early with a bonus matinee pre-show tea party! Think tea, fortune telling, and games—because why not find out if luck’s on your side?

You wouldn’t guess it, but 81-year-old Rodney Belcher and his wife, 76-year-old Candy Inglis, are out every weekday morning splitting firewood in the summer heat.

Known as the "Wood Guy" and "Wood Gal," this Saugus couple spends their days on a lot off San Francisquito Canyon Road, prepping firewood to sell once the temps drop.

But that's not all—Candy also leads a local walking group, proving that she's just as dedicated to staying active as she is to chopping wood. With Rodney passionate about every aspect of the firewood business, from splitting to burning, this dynamic duo is redefining what retirement looks like in Santa Clarita.

And the best part? They get all their wood for free, thanks to local tree trimmers who prefer giving it away to paying dumping fees. Now that's what we call a win-win.
