A Lifeline in Memory 🩸

Today, Santa Clarita honors Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer with a memorial blood drive that's as much about saving lives as it is about remembering one.

From 10 AM to 4 PM at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, community members can donate blood and receive a commemorative t-shirt. It's a tangible way to carry on Clinkunbroomer's legacy of service.

Nicknamed "Clink," Clinkunbroomer was a fourth-generation lawman whose commitment to his community extended far beyond the badge. This blood drive ensures that his spirit of giving continues to circulate through Santa Clarita.

Can't make it today? A virtual blood drive runs until October 21, allowing supporters to contribute at their convenience.

College of the Canyons' second annual "Manufacturing Day" transformed high school students into wide-eyed futurists, offering a glimpse into the world of advanced manufacturing.

The star of the show? A robotic dog that had students drooling more than Pavlov's test subjects. But the real scene-stealers were the "co-bots" – collaborative robots designed to work alongside humans. As automation continues its relentless march into the workforce, events like these are crucial in preparing the next generation for careers that even psychics haven't predicted yet. Disney's Artistic Evolution on Display 🏰

Geography professor Jeremy Patrich has turned his passion for Disney into a public exhibition that's part art show, part time machine.

Patrich's personal Disney memorabilia, including rare sketches from Snow White to the '90s, is now on display at COC's art gallery. It's like walking through the Disney vault, minus the armed guards and booby traps (we assume).

The exhibit showcases the evolution of animation and highlights the often-overlooked contributions of women in the industry. It's a "Herstory" lesson wrapped in a Mickey Mouse bow, proving that behind every great mouse, there's an army of talented women.
