Sculpt Your Own Prehistoric Pal 🦕

Forget building sandcastles—how about crafting your own ancient sea creature? The 3rd Annual Business for Artists Conference is hosting an "Imaginary Fossils Workshop" on Saturday, October 19th. Led by Judith Modrak, this hands-on session lets you channel your inner paleontologist-meets-Picasso.

For just $15, you'll get to create your own "fossil" inspired by trilobites, ammonites, and other tongue-twisting ancient critters. It's like Play-Doh for grown-ups, but with a dash of scientific flair. Who knows, you might even discover a new species—of your own imagination, that is.

Spaces are limited, so don't wait until the next ice age to sign up!

Circus Vargas is Back 🎪

After a seven-year vanishing act, Circus Vargas is making a triumphant return to Valencia Town Center. "Jubilé! An Epic World Celebration" will be dazzling audiences and making us all question our career choices.

This isn't your grandma's circus (unless your grandma was into motorcycle globes of death and opera-trained ringmasters). With performers from around the world, including unicyclists from the Czech Republic and daredevil Finnish aerialists, it's a United Nations of entertainment.

And for those worried about animal acts, fear not! Circus Vargas is now animal-free. So you can enjoy the spectacle guilt-free, unless you count the guilt of having way too much fun on a weeknight.

Grab your tickets HERE (last day to attend is the 23rd!)

City Hall's Artsy Makeover 🎨

Who said government buildings have to be boring? Certainly not Santa Clarita! The First Floor Gallery at City Hall is getting a green thumb with "Nature's Palette," an art exhibition running from September 19, 2024, to January 8, 2025.

From Carlo Marcucci's golden take on California's changing landscape to Catherine Wang's vibrant SoCal scenes, it's like Mother Nature decided to redecorate City Hall. There's even a painting of nasturtiums by Elena Mukhina that might make you rethink your stance on eating your vegetables.

Want to rub elbows with the artists? There's a reception on Friday from 6-8 PM. It's your chance to look cultured while secretly eyeing the snack table.

For more info, visit SantaClaritaArts.com. Who knows, you might leave inspired to turn your own backyard into a masterpiece—or at least finally mow the lawn.

LOCAL BUSINESS

🛒 Vallarta Supermarkets Expands

From humble beginnings as a single Van Nuys meat market in 1985, Vallarta Supermarkets has grown into a California staple, now boasting 56 stores across the state. Founded by sons of Mexican immigrants, this family-owned chain is all about bringing authentic flavors to your dinner table. With new locations planned for Modesto and Ceres, they're spreading their culinary magic faster than you can say "dinner's ready!"

But Vallarta's recipe for success includes more than just great food. Their Gonzalez Family Foundation serves up a hearty portion of community support, dishing out scholarships and partnering with charities like the Children's Miracle Network. So next time you're craving some authentic Mexican cuisine, remember: shopping at Vallarta feeds both your family and your community.
