Big Wellness Wins for Hart District ✨
The Hart District is raising a glass (and some serious wellness vibes) to five years of its wellness centers, where students get more than just academic help—they get life support. These centers aren’t serving up cucumber water and essential oils, but they are providing everything from crisis intervention to group therapy. And this week, Bowman High School joined the wellness party with the grand opening of their brand-new pavilion.
“We’re incredibly proud of the impact our wellness centers have had on students,” said Dr. Michael Vierra, Interim Superintendent. Spoiler: It’s been a huge impact. These centers are designed to help students navigate everything from mental health struggles to everyday stress, giving them the tools they need to succeed in and out of the classroom.
With continued support from the WiSH Foundation (a fitting name, right?), these centers aren’t just staying open—they’re growing. So if you haven’t checked out what these wellness centers are offering, now’s a good time. It’s more than just therapy; it’s giving SCV students a brighter, healthier future.

Santa Clarita's Spanish Social Pages Go Live 📲
Santa Clarita is now officially bilingual—at least on social media. The city’s Spanish-language Instagram and Facebook pages, @CiudadDeSantaClarita, are live and ready to connect with the community. With over 25% of SCV’s population speaking Spanish, this move makes sure that everyone has access to the latest updates, events, and resources—en Español.
Why does it matter? It’s a step toward ensuring that SCV residents can engage with their city in the language that feels most comfortable to them. So, whether you’re looking to brush up on your Spanish or want a more personalized way to stay in the know, give them a follow!

Parents vs. Drugs: The Talk Just Got Easier 💬
Here’s a convo starter for your next family dinner: the City of Santa Clarita is kicking off its Parenting for Prevention Campaign to help parents talk about the big, uncomfortable topic of drugs and alcohol with their kids.
It’s not just about raising awareness; it’s about saving lives. Local fentanyl-related deaths are on the rise—33 deaths in 2022 and 19 so far this year. So yeah, it’s time to have the talk. But don’t panic—the City’s got you covered with podcasts, online resources, and live parent meetings at local schools (the first one is at Hart High on October 15). The City has even brought in experts, so you're not going into this conversation empty-handed.
Bottom line: These aren’t just casual talks—they’re lifesaving ones. Start the conversation, and help your kids navigate a world where saying “no” is harder than ever.

Shark Tank’s Lori Greiner Swims into SCV 🦈
Shark Tank’s very own Lori Greiner was in town last week, sharing her business wisdom with the SCV at the 2024 Economic Outlook Forecast. During the event, hosted by the SCV Economic Development Corp., Greiner didn’t just talk about what it takes to succeed in business—she dropped some golden nuggets on what not to do, too. Case in point: Ring used to be called "Doorbot." Yeah, branding matters.
The event also featured insight from economist Mark Schniepp, who shared his predictions for 2025, from lower interest rates to the rise of AI in industries across the board. And if you’re wondering what’s next for SCV’s economy, Supervisor Kathryn Barger shared her optimism for the future, with the upcoming mall renovation leading the charge. Things are looking up, SCV.
