🚧 The MetroWalk project in Canyon Country, which includes nearly 500 homes, is back in front of the Santa Clarita City Council. While city planners support giving the developer, BluMax, more time and flexibility, they’re not on board with accepting $800,000 in lieu of building required affordable housing. The developer is seeking to replace 49 rental apartments with for-sale townhomes, citing challenges with financing rental construction. While construction is already underway on the first 150 homes, the city is holding firm on its affordable housing requirements—at least for now. (The Signal)
