💸 Senator Suzette Valladares (R-Santa Clarita) has introduced Senate Bill 816, a proposal aimed at giving small businesses a break by exempting those with 25 or fewer employees and gross receipts under $5 million from the state’s $800 annual franchise tax. Valladares argues that this move could help ease the financial strain on small businesses, encouraging new startups and stimulating economic growth. The bill would take effect for taxable years beginning January 1, 2025, giving small businesses the chance to reinvest those savings into growing their operations, hiring more employees, and enhancing services. Sports
🏊️ The Master's University swim team made a splash at the 2025 NAIA Swimming & Diving National Championships in Elkhart, Indiana, snatching two national championships and a couple of runner-up spots. Katherine Dyer took second in the 100-free, breaking her own program record, while Dylan Crane dove into seventh in the same event. The men’s team finished 9th overall—pretty impressive for a squad that's now adding "record-breaking" to their resume. Despite fielding only three swimmers, the women’s team took 13th. And let’s not forget the Men’s 400-free relay, where the Mustangs swam their way into the history books with a record-breaking seventh place.(SCV News)

Watch
“If your idea of celebrating St. Paddy’s Day leans more toward couch time than pub crawls, you’re in luck—there are plenty of great St. Patrick’s Day TV episodes to stream. From green beer-fueled chaos to magically weird twists, these episodes bring all the festive shenanigans without the next-day regrets. Grab a drink (or don’t) and enjoy the madness from the comfort of your couch.”

Eat
“One bite of Venditti’s, and we knew we were in trouble—the kind where you ‘accidentally’ eat half a pizza before coming up for air. Their Grandma Pie is crispy-edged perfection, and the New York-style is so foldable and delicious, it’s almost too easy to keep going. Plus, they use organic flour and a natural preferment, so it’s basically gourmet… even if you’re eating it straight from the box like we did. If you haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for?”
—Kate Gullett, Editor-in-Chief
Read
“As an avid museum goer, I loved Patrick Bringley’s memoir All the Beauty in the World as he recounts his experience quitting his corporate job to become a security guard at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. If you’ve ever wondered what real-life Night at the Museum might be like, Bringley’s insightful and touching memoir gives you a glimpse. Read it this weekend if you want a behind the scenes look of one of the world’s most spectacular museums.”
