Move over, political pundits—Golden Valley High School just hosted its own election spectacular, with over 1,200 students getting their first taste of democracy in action. These future voters aren't just marking random boxes, either—they're diving deep into nonpartisan research and asking the tough questions about ballot measures.

The results? Harris nabbed 44.7% of the vote, with Trump trailing at 38.5%. But the real winner here? Democracy itself, with students walking away with "I Voted" stickers and something even better—the confidence to make their voices heard when it really counts.

Day of the Dead Comes Alive 💀

Santa Clarita's Día de Muertos celebration turned the Canyon Country Community Center into a vibrant cultural fiesta this weekend. From mariachi bands to skeleton runs (yes, that's exactly what it sounds like), the event brought together tradition and modern fun in the best possible way.

This celebration wasn't just about face paint and sugar skulls—it was about community connection. Making a Difference, One Project at a Time 🌟

Saturday morning saw more than 100 people voluntarily wake up early—and not just because someone promised free coffee. These local heroes doubled last year's project count, turning Make a Difference Day into a Make a Difference Extravaganza.

While Mayor Smyth's kids were still snoozing (his words, not ours), volunteers were out there living their best lives—painting library windows, building cabinets, and generally making the rest of us look bad. Thanks for raising the bar, folks.

The Santa Clarita Swap Meet said goodbye this Sunday after decades of deals, discoveries, and community connections. The final day saw record crowds hunting for everything from vinyl records to vintage finds, proving that even in the age of Amazon, nothing beats the thrill of the hunt at a good old-fashioned swap meet.

While the site's future holds 318 new homes and warehouse space, the memories of 3 AM setups, impossible-to-resist bargains, and Sunday morning traditions will live on. As vendor Joe Howell put it after 32 years of selling plants: "It's been about the people, not just the sales."
