Good morning, SCV. This is The SCV Insider. Welcome to June, aka the soft launch of summer. The days are longer, the coffee orders are iced, and the weekend plans now include “find a pool” as a top priority.

Wednesday, June 4

🎭 Sonnets and Song to Benefit Eaton Fire Relief | Wednesday, June 4 | 8:00 PM | The MAIN | $25 + fee | Poetry, theater, live music, and actual impact? Say less. Join Dig Deep Theatre and Santa Clarita Shakespeare for a one-night-only benefit performance of Sonnets for an Old Century, featuring soul-baring monologues and LA-inspired tunes. Your ticket includes a drink, snacks, and the warm fuzzy feeling of doing good. Proceeds go to the Eaton Fire and Recovery Fund.

🍷 Bringing It Home – A Wine & Hors d’Oeuvres Fundraiser for SCV Veterans | Thursday, June 5 | 6:00 – 8:00 PM | Salt Creek Grille | $75 | Swirl, sip, and support at this luxe evening benefitting local veterans. Hosted by Salt Creek Grille, this second annual soirée features curated wines, gourmet bites, and major heart. All proceeds help provide holiday meals for SCV veterans who deserve nothing but the best. Limited seats—grab yours before they’re gone!

🧸 LEAP Children’s Museum Pop-Up: Wellness Through Play | Saturday, June 7 | 9:00 AM – 4:15 PM | Valencia Town Center Patios | Free | Wellness, but make it fun-sized. This pop-up museum is all about healthy habits for little humans—think pretend doctor’s office, fitness zone, and a whole lot of interactive play for ages 2–8. Bonus: there’s a daily low-sensory session at noon for extra accessibility. Five sessions daily, so plan your playdate now!

🎨 Flutterby Open Studio at ARTree | Saturday, June 7 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | ARTree Community Arts Center | Free | Let your creativity take flight at this hands-on family art day! The Flutterby Open Studio is a monthly free-for-all (literally—it’s free!) where kids and adults can dive into guided projects together. Just be sure to register early—spots flutter away fast.

🍩 2nd Annual Donut Day – Presented by the Salvation Army SCV Corps | Saturday, June 7 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Canyon Country Community Center | Free to attend | Who can devour the most doughnut holes in two minutes? Find out at this sugar-fueled showdown! Celebrate Donut Day with live music, food trucks, games, and good vibes—plus a doughnut hole eating contest that’s equal parts hilarious and heroic. All proceeds support the Salvation Army’s local programs.

💕 Canyon Theatre Guild Presents ‘The Last Romance’ | Saturday, June 7 | 2 PM | Canyon Theatre Guild | $15–$20 | Love might not follow a schedule, but it does show up when you least expect it. This charming story follows Ralph, a widower who veers off his usual walking route—and right into a late-in-life love story. Sweet, funny, and full of heart.

🤼 Wrestle for Autism SCV: Charity Wrestling Event for a Cause | Saturday, June 7 | 3:00 – 6:00 PM | Pico Canyon Elementary | $12-$20 | Body slams for a good cause? Count us in. Pro Wrestling Odyssey and TMD Entertainment bring the heat to SCV with this family-friendly wrestling fundraiser. Shop local vendors, meet community orgs, and cheer on the action—all to support If I Need Help, a nonprofit serving individuals with communication challenges.

🎶 3rd Annual Summer Breeze Music Festival – Live at CalArts | Saturday, June 7 | 5:30 – 9:30 PM (Doors at 4:30) | CalArts | $65 | Soul. Sax. Summer vibes. This festival brings the heat (and the heart) with Terrell Edwards, Tom Scott, Greg Adams, Nia Padilla, and Alison Porter lighting up the stage. Dance under the stars and feel good knowing ticket proceeds benefit a lineup of local nonprofits.

🎓 Graduation season is in full swing across the SCV! This week, local schools are tossing caps and celebrating milestones all over town—including ceremonies for Golden Valley (yesterday), Valencia (today), Hart (tomorrow, June 4), and SCVi + COC (Friday, June 6). Most high school graduations are being held at Cougar Stadium, but a few take place at local campuses and theaters.
