Join the Alzheimer’s Association at Bridgeport Park for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Registration opens at 8am, Opening Ceremony at 9, and the Walk kicks off at 9:30. Bring your friends, family, or team and be part of the movement to #ENDALZ.

🎨 4th Annual Business for Artists Conference | Saturday, Oct. 4 | 9am–3:30pm | Canyon Country Community Center | Free (registration required) | Where creativity meets business. This all-day conference brings artists, musicians, filmmakers, and nonprofit professionals together for workshops on marketing, branding, pricing, and more. Expect keynote talks, networking opportunities, and practical tools to grow your creative career. Free to attend, but space is limited!

🗑️ Document Shredding & Carpet Recycling Event | Saturday, Oct. 4 | 9am–12pm | Via Princessa Metrolink Station | Free (pre-registration required) | Clear the clutter responsibly. Burrtec Waste and the City of Santa Clarita are teaming up for a free drive-thru shredding and carpet recycling day. Onsite shred trucks will securely dispose of documents while carpets get recycled. Open to SCV residents only — proof of residency and pre-registration required. Sign up for a time slot HERE!

🦋 Flutterby Open Studio | Saturday, Oct. 4 | 10am–1pm | ARTree Community Arts Center, Newhall | Free (registration required) | A monthly family favorite — Flutterby invites kids and adults of all ages to get creative together with hands-on art projects. Space is limited, so be sure to register in advance (waitlist spots often open closer to the date). Note: this is a family event, no drop-offs allowed.

🍇 Hayrides Through the Vineyard at Agua Dulce Winery | Saturday, Oct. 4 | 12pm | Agua Dulce Winery | $10 adults, $5 kids | Celebrate fall wine-country style. Agua Dulce Winery’s annual hayride tradition pairs vineyard views with live music, great wine, and family fun. Sip and stroll (or ride) your way through the vines while the kids enjoy the seasonal festivities. A perfect autumn afternoon escape.

🎸 SCV Music Festival | Saturday, Oct. 4 | 6–10pm | Macy’s Valencia Parking Structure | $50–$150 | Picture 60+ musicians — pros and amateurs — trading places every song, covering favorites under the stars on top of a Macy’s parking deck. That’s the SCV Music Festival, a “Woodstock”-style night out with food, wine, and seating options ranging from picnic blankets to reserved tables near the stage. Always a sellout, always a blast. Proceeds benefit the WiSH Education Foundation.

🎶 Sgt. Pepper’s Live On Stage! | Saturday, Oct. 4 | 2pm & 7pm | Golden Valley Theater | $20–$25 | A Beatles “mega-show” lands in SCV, blending tribute band Britain’s Finest with the SCV Youth Orchestra, Golden Valley Band & Choir, and even an Indian music ensemble for a one-night-only performance of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in full. Expect classics, choir harmonies, and a surprise grand finale with the Golden Valley marching band. 100% of proceeds go directly to local music programs.

The Dig Deep Dash is a family-friendly 5K to benefit Dig Deep Theatre, SCV’s nonprofit bringing classic and contemporary productions to life. Every step supports the arts in our community.

💧 Make it rain (into your garden). Santa Clarita’s Rain Barrel Purchase Program returns Saturday, Oct. 25, 9–11 a.m. at The Centre (20880 Centre Pointe Pkwy). Pre-order up to two barrels per household for $45 each (+ tax) at city.sc/RainBarrel and pick them up curb-style. Barrels are 50-gallon, food-grade plastic with a solid brass spigot (hello, garden hose) and a 4" mesh screen to keep the skeeters out. Supplies are limited, City residents only, and there’s a lifetime cap of two per resident—so choose wisely. Bonus: a free rain-harvesting class at 9 a.m. (open to residents and non-residents) covers install tips and water-saving hacks. (City of Santa Clarita)

💼 Mark your calendars: the Santa Clarita Job Fair is back. On Friday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., College of the Canyons’ West Gym will transform into opportunity central, with employers from multiple industries ready to hire. Whether you’re job hunting, career shifting, or just résumé-curious, this free event (with free parking, bless) is open to the public. COC is even offering résumé writing help ahead of time, so no excuses for Comic Sans. Employers will be onsite looking for candidates, so bring your A-game — translation: dress to impress and have a stack of résumés handy.

🎶 “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” hits the Canyon Theatre Guild stage. The Tony- and Grammy-winning Broadway smash opened last weekend in Old Town Newhall, bringing Carole King’s story — from Brooklyn songwriter to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend — to life with a soundtrack you already know by heart. Think “It’s Too Late,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “The Locomotion,” and “You’ve Got a Friend,” along with hits King penned for artists like The Drifters and The Shirelles. Running through Nov. 1, the show features a cast of 23 and a journey that’s equal parts nostalgia trip and feel-good history lesson. Tickets are $24 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students.
