Nominations are now open for the 2024 Santa Clarita Valley 40 Under Forty list, and it’s time to spotlight the next generation of leaders making waves in our community. Since 2009, the SCV 40 Under Forty has been celebrating passionate, driven individuals who lead the charge toward a brighter future in SCV and beyond.

Do you know someone who’s been absolutely crushing it in the community? Here’s your chance to help them get the recognition they deserve.

✅ Must be between 18 and 39 years old as of November 23
✅ Must serve in a leadership role in work or volunteer life
✅ Must live or work in SCV, Antelope Valley, or San Fernando Valley

SCE’s 2024 Game Plan ⚡

Southern California Edison is charging into 2024 with a bright idea: fewer power shutoffs and a lot more happy customers. After trimming Public Safety Power Shutoff events down to just two last year (from 16 in 2019—hey, we’ll take it!), SCE is rolling out some fancy new tech, like weather stations, cameras, and microgrids.

They’ve even put together a team to make sure you get your notifications on time—because, let’s face it, missing 80,000 last October wasn’t exactly their shining moment.

The goal? Keep the lights on and the drama off.

$500 Grants Up for Grabs 💰

Calling all SCV teachers! 📣 Got a classroom idea that’s a little outside the box? The California Credit Union Foundation wants to help you make it happen with a $500 grant. Whether you’re thinking of starting a chick-hatching club, launching a school newspaper, or creating the next big thing that brings your students’ creativity to life, now’s your chance to shine.

Ten lucky teachers will score the cash this October, so if you’ve got a plan brewing, don’t wait—apply by September 23.
