🚌 📚️ The library is hitting the road! Santa Clarita is rolling out the Library Express, a fully loaded mobile library designed to bring books, programs, and storytime magic straight to the community. The big debut is happening this Saturday, April 26, during the Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros celebration—kicking off with a 9:30 a.m. ribbon cutting at the Old Town Newhall Library and continuing with a public stop at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy branch around 11:00 a.m. Families can hop aboard to check out books, explore the new mobile unit, and enjoy interactive games like foosball, air hockey, and chess. It’s all part of the City’s plan to make learning more accessible, no matter where you live. (The City of Santa Clarita)

🍷 Calling all foodies and wine lovers! The 36th Annual Taste of the Town returns Sunday, May 4 at Blomgren Ranch, bringing a dreamy afternoon of unlimited bites and sips from Santa Clarita’s top chefs, caterers, wineries, and breweries. Hosted by the Child & Family Center, this all-inclusive food & wine fest supports essential mental health and wellness services in the community. VIPs get in early at 1 p.m. ($150), general admission starts at 2 p.m. ($95), and everyone gets treated to live music, scenic views, and plenty of indulgence.

🏐 OK this one’s a little nostalgic! The College of the Canyons Volleyball Summer Camp is back this July for boys and girls ages 8–14 and this is a camp that I actually attended growing up! Whether your kiddo is a total beginner or looking to level up, this camp offers fundamentals, fun drills, and team play led by the COC women’s volleyball team (seven-time conference champs, no big deal). Campers get a T-shirt and plenty of court time inside the air-conditioned Cougar Cage. Sessions run July 21–24 and July 28–31. 🎨 CalArts is holding onto its crown—again. For the fifth year in a row, the school's Character Animation and Experimental Animation programs have topped every category in Animation Career Review’s 2025 rankings. Out of 200 schools evaluated nationwide, CalArts landed the No. 1 spot across the board: in the U.S., California, the West Coast, and among both BFA and MFA programs.
