Creative Teens Aim for Global Impact 🎨

Calling all budding artists, writers, and musicians—this is your time to shine. The Santa Clarita Sister Cities organization is inviting teens aged 12-18 to submit original work for the 2025 Young Artists and Authors Showcase. The theme? “FRIENDSHIP: The Heartbeat of Global Peace.”

Top entries will compete on an international stage for a $1,000 prize. Submissions are due by March 14, 2025, so whether you’re painting your magnum opus or jotting down lyrics on a napkin, get started now.

Need a nudge? Think of this as your shot at global fame… or at least bragging rights at the next family dinner.

Homelessness Solutions in Focus 🎧

The city’s podcast, Santa Clarita Voices, just dropped Episode 2, and it’s here to make your commute a whole lot smarter. Hosted by City Manager Ken Striplin, this episode dives into homelessness solutions with Bridge to Home’s Chris Najarro and LA County Sheriff’s Captain Justin Diez.

In the episode, they’re talking about the new permanent homeless shelter and how SCV is tackling one of the toughest challenges with some actual, tangible progress. No fluff, just the good stuff.

Revisit History at Rancho Camulos 🧑‍🌾

Step back to 1882 without the hassle of a time machine. Rancho Camulos Museum is recreating the historic visit of author Helen Hunt Jackson, whose novel Ramona put this ranch on the map… kind of.

During the immersive experience, costumed docents bring history to life with unscripted conversations about the ranch’s past, winemaking, and Jackson’s mission to advocate for Native Americans. It’s a mix of history, drama, and good old-fashioned storytelling.

Rancho Camulos is just off Highway 126, a short drive from SCV. Tours run regularly, so click below for details.

Bonus: It’s a National Historic Landmark, so you’re basically visiting a living, breathing museum.

Wake up looking and feeling amazing with the Save My Face!® Pillow – seriously, this little pillow might just change your life.

Here’s why it’s a game-changer:

  • Wrinkle-Free Mornings: No more “pillow face” or sleep lines! The unique crescent design keeps your face lifted while you sleep.

  • Breathe Better: It opens up your sinuses, so you wake up less puffy and more refreshed.

  • Protect Your Skin (and Your Stuff): Skincare stays on your face, not your pillow. It’s also perfect for keeping CPAPs and lash extensions in place.

Whether you’re a side sleeper, love to travel, or just want something extra luxurious (hello, silk and satin options!), there’s a Save My Face!® Pillow for you.

And here’s the kicker – it’s hypoallergenic, machine washable, and dermatologist-approved. Even chiropractors and plastic surgeons are fans because it helps with neck support and recovery.

Let’s be real: You spend a third of your life sleeping. Why not make it count?

Mustangs Dominate the Court in Preseason Showdown 🏐

The Master’s University men’s volleyball team is wasting no time showing their might. Fresh off a near-miss NAIA championship run in 2024, the Mustangs kicked off their preseason with a clean sweep against NCAA Division I powerhouse Princeton. Despite being underdogs on paper, TMU’s sharp play and seasoned lineup proved unstoppable.

Coach Jared Goldberg credits the team’s extensive fall tournament schedule for their early-season edge: “We’re pretty sharp right now while most teams are still figuring things out.” With All-American stars and fresh talent returning, the Mustangs are eyeing another deep championship run. Catch them in action starting Jan. 31 at Concordia University Irvine.
