40 Years of Musical Mayhem 🎺

Last Saturday, College of the Canyons' Cougar Stadium transformed into the Super Bowl of high school bands, hosting the 40th annual Hart Rampage. Think 31 bands, 3,000 students, and enough proud band parents to fill a stadium of 6,000 (and then some).

West Ranch took home the gold, sweeping band and percussion categories, while Valencia pulled a hat trick with wins in band, color guard, AND percussion. It's like the Olympics, but with more brass and sass.

The best part? This local tradition has spawned generations of musicians who keep coming back—proof that band kids really do have more fun.

Home Sweet Home 🚐

Cali Lake RV Resort just parked a major victory. After a year-long battle over long-term housing rights, 150 residents can finally put their moving boxes in storage (and their anxiety on ice).

Owner Stewart Silver didn't just win the appeal—he celebrated by treating the entire community to dinner. Talk about a landlord who doesn't just collect rent checks, but also collects brownie points. Sure, there are some strings attached—maintaining evacuation plans and keeping registrations current—but after dodging the eviction bullet, that's like being asked to tidy up your room at Disneyland.

Supervisor Kathryn Barger dubbed it a "win-win," proving that sometimes the little guy comes out on top.
